Mike Rom presents at the Workers’ Compensation Seminar of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association

Mike Rom presented at the Workers’ Compensation Seminar of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association on November 3, 2023. His topic was the Appellate Court case of Village of Western Springs v. Illinois Workers ’Compensation Commission. Our client was employed as a crossing guard. She was injured when she slipped on ice and fractured her wrist. The claim was initially denied by the Arbitrator. Our office file a Petition for Review and benefits were awarded by the Commission. The Circuit Court set aside the decision of the Commission. Mike then filed an appeal to the Workers’ Compensation Commission division of the Appellate Court. The award of benefits was reinstated by the Appellate Court.
